MRUC Youth Group participated in its 13th Annual 30 Hour Famine for World Vision!
April 29 - April 30, 2006 |
||
14 teens, ages 12 to 19, fasted from 6:00 am Saturday morning April 29th until noon Sunday April 30th. The 30 hours spent together were filled with ice breakers, games, a nature scavanger hunt at Parc Ile de la Visitation, a video, homework/study time and a sleep-over on a hard church basement floor! We are sure NO one has ever had as much fun sorting piles of rummage for the church sale – because as a bonus, selected choice items were put aside for a fashion parade Saturday evening. Priceless! It was a fun & fabulous weekend for a very worthwhile cause. See members of the Youth Group for donations (accepted until May 21 st). Please honour your pledges | ||

30-Hour Famine through Fast & Fellowship
April 31 - May 1, 2005 |
||
This was the Youth Group's 12th year raising funds for World Vision. The
MRUC Youth Groups over the past 11 years have helped feed, clothe and
educate countless children around the world.
This year the Senior and Junior Youth Groups had a challenging and fun-filled famine. The fast started at 6 a.m. Saturday and ended after worship service at noon on Sunday. The time together was filled with icebreakers, a very competitive United Nations trading game, a walk to Rev. David's carrying water-filled buckets, fast-paced Laser Dome, making famine T-shirts & 'pop'sicles, watching Hotel Rwanda, homework and more! The 15 teens raised $2,400 for World Vision this year! Way to go Youth Group! MRUC teens rock! |
